How to play One Crown
One Crown is a logic puzzle about careful placement. Your goal is to find a valid position for every crown using the clues on the board.
The core rules
One crown in each row
Every horizontal row must contain exactly one crown.
One crown in each column
Every vertical column must contain exactly one crown.
One crown in each region
Each colored region must contain exactly one crown.
Crowns must not touch
Crowns cannot occupy adjacent squares, including diagonally adjacent squares.
How to approach your first puzzle
- Look for rows, columns, or colored regions with very few possible crown positions.
- Eliminate squares that would place two crowns in the same row, column, or region.
- After placing a crown, rule out all immediately neighboring squares, including diagonals.
- Repeat until every row, column, and region has exactly one crown.
Common mistakes
Remember that diagonal contact counts as touching. A board can look correct by row and column while still breaking the region or adjacency rule.
More tips
